Hair care routine

     Hair care routine...

Hi my lovelies!

Today I'm going to share with you my hair routine, including: the products i use on my hair, how often i use them and what i think of them.

I like to wash my hair every other day because it is naturally wavy so it becomes easily dried out if I over wash it. Recently I have been using the Liz Earle botanical shine shampoo which is super nourishing as it contains aloe vera and shea butter. I ran out of the matching conditioner and am yet to purchase another so I am using the Loreal Paris Elvive full restore repairing conditioner. It has added so much shine to my hair which I absolutely love.

Shampoo- £10.00
Conditioner- £3.49

Once a week I condition my hair using the Aussie 3 minute miracle reconstructor.
I leave it in the ends of my hair for around 5-6 minutes and it makes it really smooth and manageable. It also smells amazing, so if you're looking for a deep conditioning hair product you should give it a go.

Conditioner- £4.99

Another great Aussie product is the Miracle Recharge conditioning spray, I use daily. This is perfect for when your hair is a bit tangly as it ensures you can easily brush through any knots. This product lasts for ages as you only need one spray per time.

Leave in conditioning spray- £4.69

A hair essential for me is a heat protect spray to prevent my hair from damage. This is the GHD Style Heat Protect Spray which I got at the same time as my straighteners. It acts as a protectant from heat as well as a conditioning spray. I adore the smell of this product which lasts all day!

Heat Protectant- £9.95

I hope you have enjoyed this post!
Let me know what products you use on your hair in the comments below.

5 under £5

♥  5 skincare products for under £5

Hi there lovely reader!
I thought I'd share with you five great skincare products which are all under £5 and ideal for someone who does beauty on a budget.
Name: Kind to skin moisturising facial wash
Price: £3.38 for 150ml
I use this product every single day to clean my face.  It has loads of vitamins and no perfume or colour so it is great for soothing sensitive skin.

 Name: Vaseline original petroleum jelly
Price: £1.95
I also use this product many times a everyday, i keep one in my handbag, one in my makeup bag and one on my sink. It is ideal for moisturising lips aswell as any small areas of skin which are dry.

Name: Boots essentials facial toner
Price: £1.50 for 150ml
Having tried the Liz Earle toner for £22.99 and several other toners such as ones from the body shop, this is still my all time favourite. It is an absolute bargain and leaves my skin feeling much more refreshed than an other more expensive product.
Name: Montagne Jenesse face mask
Price: £1.00
I always like to have one of these in my cupboard as they're simply amazing!
There is such a variety in them, for example the fruity one pictured is specifically for moisturising but they're also cucumber ones for cleansing or clay ones for purifying. Perfect for a pamper evening!

Name: Hand food by soap and glory
Price: £2.50 for 50ml
This heavenly scented hand cream made with Shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow is an absolute must in my hand bag. It's super moisturising and excellent value for money. I need to repurchase mine as I used it all up, which is why the picture above is not mine.
I highly recommend the soap and glory range for yourself or as a present.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I did creating it.
I'm going to be posting on my blog much more regularly so be sure to keep updated! Comment below if there is anything particular you would be interested in reading.

Get the look: August

♥  Get the look: August

An outfit, makeup and hair look from a typical August day! As the weather in England isn't that great the outfit would have to be worn on a warmer day or it would be perfect on a holiday.
Shorts- Zara
Top- Topshop
Shirt- Primark
I love these shorts as they're so colourful and unique, I chose the red tank top with a scalloped edge to go with it because it picks up the red from the patches on the shorts. As it's not super hot I decided to put a flannel shirt over the top (perfect whatever season!) I paired it with my white high top converse from office.

Recently I have been wearing quite light eye makeup and a bright lip. The makeup I wore on this day was-
Rimmel wake me up concealer
Rimmel stay matte powder
Rimmel natural bronzer
Benefit lust duster (as a highlight)
Seventeen sculpting pencil
"Lilac" from flutter eye shadow palette
"Golden pink" and "Gold" from bobbi brown warm glow eye palette
Benefit roller lash mascara
Clinique "pudgy peony" chubby stick

In the summer I like to wear a loose plait as it's simple, quick and doesn't require heat. I prefer to do this on second day hair as it has more texture. I just part my hair in the centre then plait it, pulling bits out and placing hair grips where I feel I need it.

The finished makeup and hair look-

The final part to this look was my nails.
This is a Barry M matte nail polish in the shade "Copa Cabana" which is a lovely bright colour for summer and compliments the top perfectly. My rings are from accessorise.

I hope this post inspires you to try something new this summer or step out of your usual style with bolder colours.

Stay beautiful,
Josie xo

Prom

♥  PROM NIGHT ♥

On the 23rd June was my Year 11 Leavers Prom.
This blog post will include products I used on my hair and face as well as what I wore and some pictures from the event!

Enjoy xo

The day before my prom I went to a local nail salon and I got baby pink gel nails- which last for three weeks.
I also used a boots natural collection face mask and moisturised my face with the boots essentials moisturising cream.

During the morning to prepare my skin I applied florentyna body lotion to my arms and legs. I then used the Vaseline hand cream. As well as the boots essentials moisturising cream pictured above, I used the boots essentials eye gel, boots skin clear spot gel and boots essentials lip salve.

For my hair I decided to go for a simple style.
I brushed through my hair, before applying the ghd style heat protecting spray. I brushed it through thoroughly before sectioning my hair with clips and using my ghd straighteners to straighten it. To ensure my hair did not go curly and it all stayed in place I spritzed it with the boots extra firm hold hair spray.

I began my makeup by applying benefits pore- fessional primer and the body shops strawberry lip butter. I then used my real techniques and bobbi brown makeup brushes to do my make up.

I used the hello flawless foundation by benefit as a base. I then applied rimmel wake me up concealer onto my blemishes and benefit fake up concealer under my eyes. I used the rimmel stay matte powder to set it in place. I lightly dabbed the bronzer from the clarins bronzing duo open my cheek bones, forehead and under my chin.
I also used benefits benetint liquid blush and benefits high beam liquid highlighter.

For my eyes I rubbed a small amount of benefits stay don't stray primer onto my eye lids, before applying ooh la lift high lighter onto my brow bone. I used eye shadows  from the goodies a go-go eye kit by benefit. I used rimmel brow this way gel on my eyebrows and benefit roller lash mascara on my lashes. I completed the look by dabbing vaselines almond and rose lip balm onto my lips.

What I wore...
Dress- I purchased from asos but it is by forever unique.
Shoes- I also purchased from asos but they are from new look.
Clutch bag- Accessorise

Me and my boyfriend being a bit
silly in the photo booth.

Perfume collection

♥  MIXED PERFUME REVIEW ♥

For this blog post I decided to do perfume reviews of the ones which I have within my collection. Most of these I received as presents, over time, so I do not know where they were purchased or for exactly how much, but I have looked it up, however it may not be exact!

The Body Shop- 'White Musk Blush'

This is absolutely perfect for travel or keeping in your handbag as it comes in a small, light, plastic bottle which holds 100ml. It has a very sweet delicate scent which is ideal for spring or summer.  This version of it is available  for £8 from the body shop, however they also do 150ml bottles made of glass. So you could have one for home and one for your handbag?!

  Bobbi Brown- 'Almost Bare'
This perfume has been my day to day pick for some time now.
It has a fresh scent and is very long lasting. The 50ml bottle is £49.50, which I think is quite expensive, for how much you get, however if you see it in the sale I would definitely recommend buying it or if you are up for a splurge !

Calvin Klein 'One'

I have been really enjoying using this perfume, it has a very strong scent and a lot goes along way, which means you only need to use a small amount and it is not necessary to re- apply it within a day.
It is an 100ml glass bottle which is £18. I think it is the best value for money perfume which I have mentioned.

Gucci- 'Gucci Guilty'

I adore the bottle that this perfume is in as it is so glamorous, however along with that comes a large price tag- £129.00 for the 75ml bottle.
I do like the scent of the perfume, as it has some dark and light tones which makes it perfect for all times of year. It is very long lasting but can be over powering if you apply too much. I would say if you're looking for a high end product this is definitely a good choice but there are just as good high street equivalents.

 Tommy Hilfiger- 'Tommy Girl'

I received this perfume, as a gift about two years ago, and have been constantly re-purchasing it since. It is probably my favourite all time perfume. It has a beautiful floral scent. I currently have the 100ml bottle which I bought for £19.50. I highly recommend this perfume and I think it makes a great present, as it is so neutral: everyone enjoys the smell.

Juicy Couture- Viva La Juicy - 'La Fleur'

I purchased the 150ml bottle of this for £20 about two years ago and it is still lasting me! It has a floral, pretty scent which is ideal for springtime. I think the amount you get for the price is great.  I also love the packaging as I think it is so girly and sweet!
I would suggest this perfume as a present for a girl aged 12-15.

I hope you have enjoyed viewing my perfume collection and are considering to buy one of them. Please feel free to share in the comments what perfumes you have been enjoying.

Stay beautiful,
Josie xo
